Athough I haven’t seen the film of “TheTimes of Harvey Milk” but I read somethings about Harvey Milk in the Internet.
He was an American politician and the firstthe openly gay man to be elected to public office in California, as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisiors His most famous talking points became known as the "Hope Speech", which became a staple throughout his political career. It opened with a play on the accusation that gay people recruit impressionable youth into their numbers: "My name is Harvey Milk—and I want to recruit you". A version of the Hope Speech that he gave near the end of his life was considered by his friends and aides to be the best, and the closing the most effective:
And the young gay people in the Altoona, Pennsylvanias and the Richmond, Minnesotas who are coming out and hear Anita Bryant in television and her story. The only thing they have to look forward to is hope. And you have to give them hope. Hope for a better world, hope for a better tomorrow, hope for a better place to come to if the pressures at home are too great. Hope that all will be all right. Without hope, not only gays, but the blacks, the seniors, the handicapped, the us'es, the us'es will give up. And if you help elect to the central committee and other offices, more gay people, that gives a green light to all who feel disenfranchised, a green light to move forward. It means hope to a nation that has given up, because if a gay person makes it, the doors are open to everyone.
After reading about him I don’t hate gay that much any more, althoug gays are not nature way of loving but that’s still love, you can’t force how people want to love or how to love, we have no right to take away their right of loving. What can we say, it’s the 21century, people learn how to respect people and people know everyone has the right to choose what they want. Might we can’t accept it but we just have to learn how to respect it! Harvey Milk was just like John Locke and Henri Rousseau they fight for the democracy and freedom. These people just wanted people to learn how to resect people and love each other in a peaceful way, but why human being always want to use the hard way and than the innocent one sacificed, afterwoods they say they were sorry. What is that for? Why don’t people just learn their lesson from the history? Is it learn it quicker if someone sacrifice in front of you? Does every one like to see the hero thing in front of us? Why don’t we just learn these lessons and try to work in the peaceful way, not only on the gay right but also on every other rights that we want to be accept by the world.

The Road Not Taken Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh

There are many choces in our life, when we met the branching road and we have to choose one, but who knows what’s it going to be after we choose the any of it. It might be a lot’s of differences but both of either which choose we have to work hard and keep going and don’t regret because there is no use of regreting, maybe you will find may difficulties but as long as you keep going might it will be hard and tired but that’s the road you choose and it will still come to an end and might the end is not what we had expected but we have worked hard and we won’t regret that will be enough. Life is tough but we still have to live and keep going.
People feel reget everytime when they face difficulties, we always look back and said to ourseves, why? Why did I choose this and not that, if I choose that then it wouldn’t be like this now! People said to themseves all the time when they face a problem, what is the piont of telling your self these kinds of words? Does it make any help by saying this? Is it going to be better if choose the other? I don’t think so, if you choose the other you would find yourself with other problems and starting regreting again and telling yourself whys this and whys not that. This poem by Robet Frost, he wanted to tell us that we should not waste our time to reget, because that’s no help for doing that, it’s just a waste of time. May be it’s hard to decide when you face a life road, and it might really hard to choose, may be once we have chosen the road, we should stick to it and ride to the end, and try to face all the problems and work hard, then one day we look back again, we wont feel any regret but felt happy, because we have work so hard and enjoyed our life and feel everything we’ve done was worth it. That’s life.

At one point in the movie we watched, they mention that they think it is (in the United States) socially acceptable to show lesbians showing physical affection, but showing gay men with even minor physical affection (a kiss, a brush on the cheek) really bothers people. Why do you suppose this is so? Do you think this is the same in Taiwan? (another way to think of this question is to ask if two girls holding hands walking down the street are likely to get the same reaction as two males holding hands).
I feel sick for two same sexes kissing not only gay but lesbians too, it’s just not nature. When you see some boys brushing on the cheek, that’s knida disgusting, because why would a nomal boy brushing their cheek? I don’t really know why’s that so, but it’s just too unacceptble, if you really want a reason I would say that’s not nature. It’s the same in Taiwan, people can’t accept boys kissing or brushing their cheeks. Question 1: Taiwan has an excellent record on human rights and is always trying to improve even more. However, many Taiwanese argue that women’s rights have not progressed fast enough. Unfortunately, this is true of many countries in the world. According to the second reading (the state department report), women make only 85% as much as men do for the same job. Obviously this is not done as an open policy, but instead it comes about because women end up with a lower starting pay, get fewer promotions, smaller bonuses, and so on. On average when a man makes $1,000 NT, a woman makes only $850 NT for the same job. I would like for you to respond to this fact. Here are some possible response topics: How do you think this situation came about? Are their historical reasons this has happened? Are their cultural reasons? Other reasons? What can be done to fix this problem? (keep in mind that it is often difficult to prove that you are being underpaid).
Well, I think this situation has last for many years the old traditional Chinese are the mens world, which I don’t feel it’s fair. It’s the old cultural that made women so priceless, if we look back to the history, we can see that men can have as many wives as they want, but women don’t have the rights to do so, and you can see the women don’t have any chance to choose who they want to marry but men does. You can see the in from the first chinese king till now the president, you can find no women who can contral everything, all the kings are men, we don’t have any Queens who can sit at the kings seat and ask people to do things or even ask the king to do things for the queens, but you can see that kings can make the queens to do anything they wanted. How do you think it’s fair? Till now, some men still think that they can do anything and do better they women, but I think it’s not fair, who said that women are always weaker then men? Although women are not strong enough in the outside but in the inside are not as weak as men think they were! Even in work, men think that a women just can’t be like a men strong enough and clever enough to deal with things an solve problems and some people even think that only men can go drinking with the client and have the case done, but women can’t. You know that is so wrong. I hated when some guys say that, that is so stupid and so damned snobbish. This women right realy makes me feel unfair and angry about men. I promise myself that I would be a very strong and clever girl just to get ahead of men. My dad was a very hight educated person, he always think that my mom was just too stupid for him, and he want a more clever person, so he left my mom, I am really pissed at him for thins reason. My mom was a old tradional women before my dad left her, she listened to every words that my dad said and was a very wonderful women, she helped my dad to social with the ambassadors wife and made my dad get the promotion quicker, my dad was her everything, but my dad still left her because he thinks my mom was not the best of all women, although she is very good and nice and everything but she doesn’t have a doctor degree. Don’t you think that’s rediculous? My dad are the greatest dad ever but he is the worst men in the whole universe, my dad once told me that a women should be a kitti cat and a lion too, he said a kitti cat are not enough for a girl, but that’s the real world, a girl that wants to be successful in work you just have to work harder then every men in the world that’s the only way to get ahead. He said he hope me can be a man inside of me, I shouldn’t be like my mom too women too weak because that would be hard to survive in the world. Gay rights in taiwan 12-02
This article suggests that gays and lesbians in Taiwan are generally afraid to “come out” to their family. The article goes on to suggest that most families operate under a “don’t-ask, don’t-tell” policy. In other words, most families just don’t want to know if they have a gay son, daughter, brother, sister, and so on. In your opinion, do you think this is correct? This article is from 2004. Do you think the situation is any different now?
Well, I don’t think Taiwan is getting any better with the ways of thinking gay, especially parents and grandparents. I really don’t know if it’s right or wrong to agree with gays or lesbians, but I really can’t imagine what if my brother is gay. I know everyone has the right to choose who they want to love or what kind of people they want to love but gays and lesbians are just not nature, they can’t make birth to a child, if they do adopt a child what should the child call there parents? Who should be the mom and who should be the dad? Well I don’t really agree with gays getting married, it’s too strange. I don’t really think that my parents would agree with it too and I really don’t think they would tell anyone that if their children are gays or lesbians. I remember that when I was in high school I went to a girls school in Taipei, I was not allowed to have a boyfriend then but I really wanted to have a boyfriend, but I was not allowed, but I have this girl friend that looks really like a boy and of cause she is a lesbians, and my parents was so worried that I will hang out that girl and be her girlfriend, after a few month later my parents told me that I should get a boyfriend. By this, I and really sure that my family won’t allowed gay or lesbians.

wedding
I just came back from my bobfriends best friend's wedding. Wow, we’ve entered the fourth wedding this year. That’s amount of wedding to enter in a year, and in December there is still another one coming, can you believe it? Well, I can’t imagine, but it really come true, of cause my friends are much bigger than my age because my boyfriend is older than me. I heard from my grandmother that next year is not a good year to be marring, because it a bad year, I don’t know why, maybe it’s the Chinese tradition, I don’t know but I’m sure that’s the reason that everyone is getting married in this year. You know what, I never thought of getting married, but I have dream of taking the wedding photo with the nice white dress, because it’s so beautiful. I’ve been helping he wedding company to shoot the wedding photo of the wedding dress and stuff, it’s quite fun but it’s kind of tiring.

1. What do you think of animal testing on cosmetics? Does it matter to you what kind of animals are used (whether it’s mice, rabbits, dogs, primates, ect?). Remember that without animal testing, cosmetics may end up much more expensive and possibly have greater risk to humans.
Like I said in the front, sacrificing and nature selection, what would be like if there is no cosmetics? It’s the same question as medical testing, and my answer are the same. But about what kinds of animals to use, I would say, depends on who are the weakest. I’m sure that most lab use mice and rabbit most, I think because it’s the weakest of all animals. You can’t catch a lion easily and I’m sure you can’t control it. In the lab, the use the weakest animal and the easiest controlling animals to be scarify.
